Kavre, Dec. 25: State would respect people’s right to follow any religious faith of their choice, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said Wednesday.
Religion shouldn’t be against the mankind and it should not invite conflict, he said while addressing an event organised on the occasion of the Christmas in Banepa.
Minister Baskota said the citizens had freedom to choose religion according to their wish.
“Nepal is now a secular country. The Constitution of Nepal has ensured equal respect to all religious faiths and right to follow religion of their choice,” he added.
“The State has no religion but a person has. Nepal is neutral in matters of religion,” said Minister Baskota.
