Kathmandu, Oct 21: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said the intimate relations between the people of Nepal and Myanmar have been further deepened with her state visit to Myanmar.
The President, who is presently on an official visit to Japan following her five-day state visit to Myanmar, took to twitter today and expressed her gratitude to her Myanmar counterpart as well as State Counsellor in Myanmar for the warm reception and hospitality extended to her during her state visit.
President Bhandari, in her Tweet, said, "My state visit to Myanmar at the friendly invitation of Myanmar's President U Win Myint has further consolidated the close ties between the two countries and its people."
President Bhandari, leading the Nepali delegation comprising Secretary at the Office of President Dr Hari Poudel, President's Chief Personal Secretary Dr Bheshraj Adhikari and other senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the President, had reached Myanmar on October 16.
The Head of the State then flew to Japan on Sunday to attend the coronation ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito. She is scheduled to return home on October 23.
