Kathmandu, May 9: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday directed the parliamentarians of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to defend the government during the budget session of the Parliament.
Issuing a written directive Friday morning, PM Oli asked all Members of Parliament of NCP to come to the defense of the government during budget session that began on Friday afternoon.
PM Oli, who is also parliamentary party leader of the ruling NCP, asked all MPs to support the government’s policy and programmes during the session.
The meeting of the parliamentary party which was said to be held Friday afternoon was canceled later.
The meeting was cancelled due to lack of the meeting hall, with sufficient space to put up all parliamentarians by maintaining social distancing, as per the standards of the World Health Organisation and the health ministry, said PM Oli in the statement.
He further said that the meeting of the both sessions should be short and conducted in a dignified manner and should be issue-centric.
“Party unity and uniformity of issues should be respected in the parliamentary session,” PM Oli asked the parliamentarians of his party.
