Humla, Mar. 7: Heaving snowfall is taking place since Friday evening in Humla. As a result, the temperature has plummeted to reach -5 degree centigrade.
The snowfall is quite heavy in the northern part of the district, according to the District Police Office. Though Friday morning had begun with a sunshine, the climate changed all of a sudden in the daytime leading to snowfall.
As a result, Kharpunath, Simkot and Namkha rural municipalities of the district have been blanketed by heavy snow. This has made daily life difficult.
However, the snowfall is expected to provide some relief to the farmers. Cereals like wheat and barley production is expected to rise, according to chief of the agriculture unit of Simkot rural municipality Netra Bahadur Shahi.
