By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug 6: The government is administering the second dose of the Vero Cell vaccine to people aged 55 and above nationwide from today.
Those, aged 55 years and above, who had received the first dose of the Vero Cell vaccine from July 6, along with people employed in emergency services as well as people travelling abroad are eligible to receive the second dose of the Vero Cell vaccine on this vaccination campaign.
According to Dr Taranath Pokhrel, director of the Family Welfare Division, the second dose of the Vero Cell vaccine is being administered nationwide from today.
He further informed that those who have completed 21 days after receiving the first dose of Vero Cell vaccine and aged 55 years and above can receive the second dose of Vero Cell vaccine.
Dr Pokhrel, said, "There is an aim to vaccinate more than 20 lakhs people on this vaccination campaign."
In addition, the Public Health Office, Kathmandu said that there is a target to inoculate 165,000 people in the Kathmandu Valley.
A total of 43,59,277 people have received their first dose and 21,30,900 have got their full dose so far, according to the report published by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
