By Naryan Kafle, Kathmandu, July 12: The Supreme Court has reinstated the dissolved House of Representatives (HoR) yet again.
During the hearing on Monday, Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana said that the President's move to dissolve the HoR had been voided.
The constitutional bench of the Top Court consisting of CJ Rana and Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, and Dr. Aananda Mohan Bhattarai issued the verdict annulling the government's decision to dissolve the lower house of federal parliament.
The SC has also ordered to call the HoR meeting on July 18.
The full text of the decision is being awaited.
A total of 30 writ petitions were filed in the SC after President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the House on May 21 during the wee hours on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
