Sarlahi, Nov. 25: Spokesperson of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Narayan Kaji Shrestha said on Sunday that the party and the government were effortful to bring the encroached Nepali territory back from the India.
Talking to journalists at Hariwon in Sarlahi, NCP leader Shrestha said that both his party and the government were making political and bilateral efforts to settle the issue of border and move back the Indian forces from the encroached land.
“The government has written a letter on this regard and sent it to the Indian officials, and we are waiting for official response from the Indian government,” Shrestha said.
The government and the NCP are committed to safeguarding the Nepali territory, he said. In another context, leader Shrestha said there was no dispute within the party over the recent cabinet reshuffle.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had reshuffled his cabinet by exercising his prerogatives rather than appointing the ministers on the basis of political sharing, he said.
The party will now focus on revitalising all lower units of the party which got delayed due to party unification process and party secretariat committee meeting, he said.
Also, commenting on the path chosen by outlawed party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, he said it would not be beneficial to the country and people.
He urged the Biplav group not to focus their party movement in creating political instability in the country. “We would like to call them to a political dialogue table,” Shrestha said.
During his arrival in the district, leader Shrestha attended two separate functions organised in Bagmati Municipality and Hariwan.
Meanwhile, leader Shrestha lambasted the statement of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Deuba had said that Prime Minister Oli had agreed to amend the map of India before its formal launching.
Shrestha, in his tweet on Saturday, had mentioned that the allegation framed against Prime Minister Oli while speaking in Pokhara meeting on Saturday, would
not merit even a condemnation or making comment.
Speaking just for the sake of immediate gratification on serious national agenda would be counter-productive.
He suggested the main opposition party to come to its sense before making baseless comments.
