Ruling coalition meeting concludes
Kathmandu, Jan 29: The meeting of the five-party ruling coalition is scheduled to resume on Saturday at 4 pm.
According to senior leader of the Nepali Congress Ram Chandra Poudel, who is also the coordinator of the coordination committee formed to run the government, the meeting of the coalition held this morning discussed consulting law experts regarding the upcoming election.
Similarly, discussions will be held with the legal experts again at the PM's residence in Baluwatar, Poudel said. The ruling coalition had earlier held discussions with legal experts on the upcoming elections, especially the local elections.
After the conflict between Article 225 of the Constitution and the Local Level Act, 2073 BS, the legal experts had suggested that the law should be made in accordance with the constitution. These and other current issues were discussed again at 9 am this morning.
The meeting was attended by top leaders including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and leaders for the Janata Samajwadi Party.
