Kathmandu, Dec. 5: The results of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) election will be announced Sunday morning.
RPP Election Committee chair Raju Basnet informed late Saturday night that vote counting had started, but the results would be out only on Sunday.
Voting for a new working committee under the unity general convention of the (RPP) had begun at the City Hall, Bhrikutimandap Saturday afternoon and lasted till late night.
The voting for a 119-member committee including eight office-bearers—one chairperson, four vice-chairpersons and three general secretaries concluded peacefully tonight.
Kamal Thapa and Rajendra Lingden are vying for the post of party chairman. Their separate panels contested the elections for all posts of office bearers.
Around 4,700 representatives across the nation are participating in the general convention.
An arrangement of ballot paper was made only for the post of the chairman while electronic voting was adopted for the elections of the office-bearers and central committee members in the election, Basnet said.
