Rautahat District Court has decided to remand Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former minister Aftab Alam until the court gives the final verdict , informed the District Court's source. The decision was given by single bench of Judge Dipak Dhakal.
After the court hearing from Alam’s lawyer ended, Judge Dahal had inquired Narayan Singh, who had filed the Fist Information Report (FIR) against Alam.
Alam’s detention was decided as per Section 67 (1) (b) of Muluki Criminal Procedure (Code) Act, 2074.
Alam has been accused of murdering several people at Rajapur of Rautahat some 12 years ago.
District Attorney Office of Rautahat has filed three cases- murder, attempt to murder and explosion of bombs against lawmaker Alam.
Alam was accused of killing all the injured of the blast throwing them in a furnace. However, Alam has been denying occurrence of such incident.
The investigation team had gathered the details from the persons injured in the bomb blasts, the family of the deceased in the blast, the then police officers, medical report of injured persons, the tractor used in the incident and the version of witnesses as the evidences against the accused.
