Kathmandu, Aug. 21: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called everyone to ensure the originality of Teej festival by preserving its cultural importance and preventing the loud and costly celebrations.
“I am hopeful that all Nepalis will observe the festival by following all the public health safety measures prescribed by the government,” said the President.
On the occasion of Haritalika Teej, President Bhandari wished for happiness, peace and prosperity of all Nepali women living in and outside Nepal.
She said, “I believe that the cultural festivals like Teej are helping in ensuring unity in diversity amongst all Nepalis and maintaining harmony in the society.”
“I extend my best wishes to all the Nepali women that Haritalika Teej will help them move forward to construct an equity-based progressive society by ending all forms of discriminations, including gender-based and caste-based discrimination,” said the President.
