Kathmandu, Dec 7: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepalis on the occasion of the Bibaha Panchami festival. She wished the festival inspires all to foster the feeling of broader national unity.
In a message of best wishes on Tuesday, President Bhandari further wished all Nepalis that festival would inspire them to build an equitable, civilized and cultured society.
Bibaha Panchami is observed in memory of the wedding prince of Ayodhya, Ram, had with princess of Mithila, Sita, during the Tretayuga. It is observed as per the lunar calendar.
"BibahaPanchami is the festival of cultural and historical value," she reminded, adding that the festival is marked throughout a week in Janakpurdham, the capital city of ancient Mithila Kingdom.
