Kathmandu, Oct 14 : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwar Pokhrel said on Monday that the two-day state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping has taken the bilateral ties to a new phase.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the China-Nepal Youth Forum organised by Silk Road Youth Forum Nepal here, DPM Pokhrel said that new hope and optimism have risen with the visit.
He also said that the visit would help Nepal to become land-linked from the landlocked status.
Similarly, Nepali Ambassador to China Leela Mani Poudyal said that the youths from both the countries could be benefited with the skill enhancement and exchange programme.
He also termed President Xi's visit as historic.
The forum representative Yang Dongping stressed on economic growth of both countries.
On the occasion, ruling Nepal Communist party (NCP) publicity department deputy chief Surya Thapa among others presented working papers on various themes.
