Kathmandu, Sept 3 : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Nepali Congress President, has said that internal competition inside the party was the beauty of democracy.
Issuing a video message to the party cadres on the beginning of NC's village/municipal ward convention starting today, Deuba said that healthy competition would strengthen the entire party organisation's root thus ensuring the functioning of democracy on every individual.
"I urge the friends across the country to participate in the convention either unopposed or through healthy competition as per the democratic process," Deuba said in the video message.
Stating that NC has proved itself a leading force in the democratic exercise, Deuba has argued that NC was also in the front of the party's internal democracy.
President Deuba has urged the party's entire leaders and cadres to join the village/municipal convention by maintaining social distance while adding that the party has commenced its general convention amid the COVID-19 pandemic due to constitutional obligation.
Deuba has also stated that he has internalised the zeal, enthusiasm and support of all those 800,000 plus party active members and leaderships.
PM Deuba has argued that it was necessary to strengthen NC to institutionalise federal democratic republic adding that people have well understood the fact that country's development was possible only from a well-organised NC.
