Kathmandu, Oct 16: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has been welcomed at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport at Bangkok in Thailand during her transit to Myanmar.
Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Ganesh Prasad Dhakal received President Bhandari who stopped there for a while en route to Myanmar.
The Head of the State is paying a five-day state visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the invitation of her Burmese counterpart U Min Myint.
President Bhandari is accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shankar Das Bairagi and secretary at the Office of President, Dr. Hari Poudel.
The President's entourage includes Personal Secretary to the President, Dr Bheshraj Adhikari, as well as the high ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Office of President.
The visit will last till October 20.
