Kathmandu, Oct 18 : At the friendly invitation of the Government of Japan, President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari is paying an official visit to Japan from 20 to 22 October 2019 to attend the Ceremony of the Enthronement of His Majesty Naruhito, the Emperor of Japan, to be held on 22 October 2019.
The President will depart for Tokyo following the completion of the state visit to Myanmar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release today.
President Bhandari will attend the Enthronement Ceremony on 22 October 2019. After the Ceremony, the President will attend the Court Banquet to be hosted by His Majesty Naruhito, the Emperor of Japan.
During the visit, the President will hold meetings with the President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind and the Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Shinzo Abe.
The President will also attend the welcome reception hosted in her honour by the Ambassador of Nepal to Japan Mrs. Prativa Rana and the welcome programme to be organized by Non-Resident Nepali Association, Japan.
President Bhandari will be accompanied by Mr. Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Minister for Home Affairs, and other high ranking officials of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The President will return to Kathmandu on 23 October 2019.
