Kathmandu, Oct 13: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and the party’s secretariat members paid courtesy call on President of People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping on Sunday morning.
The Chinese President is on a two-day state visit to Nepal at the friendly invitation of President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
NCP senior leaders and former prime ministers Jhalanath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, secretariat members Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, leader Bamdev Gautam, Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, general secretary Bishnu Poudel and Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali were present in the meeting.
President Xi is also the General Secretary of Communist Party of China. The NCP and CPC recently signed an agreement on the expansion of mutual relations.
China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi, other senior officials of the government of China and China's Ambassador for Nepal, Ms. Hou Yanqi were present on the occasion.
Following the political meeting, delegations led by President Xi and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli are scheduled to hold talks on which occasion the signing of bilateral agreements will take place.
