Kathmandu, Feb. 28: Chairman of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had attacked the constitution which was promulgated under the leadership of the communist party.
Prachanda also accused Prime Minister Oli of trying to derail the entire democratic republican system of the country.
Addressing a national gathering of Prachanda-Nepal faction affiliated teachers on Saturday, he accused Prime Minister Oli of lacking political principles, morality and honesty. “He has failed to show any morality in politics.”
Applauding Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate the parliament, Prachanda said they had won the first battle and that the battle for the restoration of the parliament was won from the road and the court had also ensured justice.
Commenting on national politics, he said, “There are still many challenges to overcome and various conspiracies are being hatched, and we are still in political struggle.” He added that since their party was now free from Oli, they would focus on strengthening the party organizations.
Claiming that the faction led by him was the official NCP, Prachanda asked teachers close to his faction to make this clear to the people.
He further claimed that Prime Minister Oli had now sided with the same class against which the communists revolted in the past.
Many leaders who benefitted from the class struggle in the past have now surrendered their interests to the opposition, betraying their own class and forgetting their roots, he added.
He further accused Prime Minister Oli of reneging on every agreement reached before party-split.
Speaking at the event, another chairman of Prachanda-Nepal faction Madhav Kumar Nepal ruled out the possibility of unity with KP Oli, adding that their party would move ahead by cooperating with those who participated in the movement against the unconstitutional move of Prime Minister Oli.
“We are now asking all those who participated in the movement to form a united government,” he added.
