The district police have held nine leaders and cadres of a lesser known outfit, Pallo Kirat Rastriya Limbuwan Morcha, including the party's central secretary.
They were arrested for carrying out activities that disturbed peace and security, said Superintendent of Police Hira Bahadur Pandey. They were held in course of flying the Morcha's flag by removing the national flag in various places of the district on the occasion of the party's 64th establishment day, he added.
The arrestees include Morcha's central secretary Dhan Bahadur Bishwokarma, central chairperson of the party's women association, Kabir Maya Sawa, Ilam district chairperson, Bijaya Angdambe, secretary Man Kumar Makhim, treasurer Mait Raj Limbu and district members Kamal Lakandri, Brijraj Chongbang, Ajahang Limbu and Harka Prasad Nembang.
