Kathmandu, Jan 23: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the Armed Police Force, Nepal is well-organized to counter adverse situation and security challenges.
Addressing an event organised in the Capital City on the 21st Establishment Day of the APF, Nepal, PM Deuba praised the force for efficiently accomplishing the roles given by the government.
In the time of crises, unusual situation including destructive earthquake and the hardships, the APF, Nepal has countered the security challenges, according to PM Deuba. He also termed the role played by the APF, Nepal important in the border security.
He expressed the confidence that the government would remain supportive to capacity building, organizational strengthening and career development of the personnel and urged the armed police to advance ahead by identifying the needs.
The PM directed the APF, Nepal leadership to ensure security situation in an effective manner for people’s right to live in a peaceful environment while applying zero-tolerance against corruption.
On the occasion, PM Deuba expressed the confidence that the organisation would discharge its duty in a more creative fashion to meet the government’s target.
In the upcoming days, the APF, Nepal will play a crucial role to conclude the three-layer elections in a free, fair and fearless manner like in the past years, the PM said.
Also speaking at the programmer, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand said the APF, Nepal’s roles in service delivery to the citizens, rescue, relief distribution and other areas are praiseworthy.
Home Minister Khand also recalled that many people got rebirth after their treatment in the APF, Nepal Hospital in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Similarly, Inspector General of APF, Nepal Shailendra Khanal made commitment to abide by the directives of PM Deuba and Home Minister Khand while adding that the force was always committed to holding its head high to institutionalise it as a responsible security body.
