Kathmandu, Oct 23: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given his word to attend a greetings exchange programme to be organized in Basantapur on the occasion of Nepal Sambat 1140 New Year on October 29 this year.
A delegation of the Nepal Sambat Nhuda National Celebration Committee 1140 led by Ramesh Maharjan called on the Prime Minister at his official residence in Balutawar and extended him the invitation to the ceremony.
In response, the Prime Minister recalled his participation in the Nepal Sambat rallies and gatherings when he was not the Prime Minister and this time, he wished to attend it and give a message to the people of Kathmandu through the same occasion.
The PM assured that there would be always support on behalf of the government in efforts for protection of Nepal's cultures and traditions.
In presence at the meeting was Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Secretariat member and Spokesperson of NCP Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
The visiting team included House of Representatives member Jeevan Ram Shrestha, province no 3's parliamentarian Basanta Manandhar and former State Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Dilip Maharjan, among others.
