Kathmandu, May 23: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the entire population will be given the anti-COVID-19 shots before the mid-term elections scheduled for November 12 and 19.
Talking to media persons at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today, the PM said the government is geared up for administering vaccines to all eligible population before the mid-term elections.
As he said, the government is in touch with several nations and vaccine manufacturing companies in a bid to bring additional doses of the vaccines in the country.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on the government’s recommendation, has already announced the mid-term elections for the House of Representatives.
So far, 2.1 million Nepalis have received two doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccine while 514 thousands have received the first dose.
Nepal has so far used Covishield and Vero Cell vaccines against COVID-19.
