By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 13: Leaders of the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplov' have held a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The meeting was focused on the three-point agreement inked between the government and the NCP and the upcoming local level election.
Along with the Prime Minister, Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, Nepali Congress vice-president Purna Bahadur Khadka, Attorney General Khamma Bahadur Khati, Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey were in the meeting from the government side while the NCP general secretary Netra Chanda 'Biplov' was accompanied by NCP spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma in the meeting.
Madhusudan Bhattarai, press coordinator of the Home Minister, informed quoting the Home Minister as saying that the NCP leaders urged the government to release the NCP cadres from the prison and withdraw cases against NCP rank and file.
In response, Prime Minister Deuba said that the government was serious about implementing the agreement.
The NCP leaders said that they were ready to take part in the local polls if the government created an environment for it by translating the agreement into action.
