By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar 25:Considering present vulnerable condition created by the COVID-19 pandemic, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged all Nepalis to stay indoors.
In her message relating to prevention of spread of the pandemic virus, President Bhandari Wednesday urged everyone to follow the directives and code of conducts issued by the government.
Stating that the virus had challenged the human existence worldwide, the President asked everyone to unite to defeat the virus.
Highlighting that the spare time at home due to the lockdown imposed by the government could be utilised creatively and productively, President Bhandari said, "During our spare time, we should be studying and investigating about how the economic status could be made independent and self-reliant."
The President also shed light on the need for effective coordination among the federal government, state governments, district coordination committees, municipalities and Gaupalikas for preparation and management of health related infrastructures and technical equipment to combat COVID-19.
President Bhandari also urged everyone to disseminate and consume only true information relating to the virus infection. She also called for the political parties, their sister organisations and students' union and other welfare organisations to move forward with the government in its battle against the deadly virus.
The President said that she had expected help and coordination from every sector in the efforts put up by the doctors, health workers and security forces to combat the virus.
As the virus has spread in almost all countries, killed over 18,000 people and infected over 400,000 accross the world, the President urged everyone to actively work from their ends to protect the invaluable human lives.
As medicines and vaccinesto cure the virus have not been developed yet, and as it has created great difficulty for even the developed nations with strong health systems to control the pandemic, Nepal's efforts should be focused on preventing the spread in any way, said the President in her message.
The President stressed on social distancing, cleanliness and staying at home to prevent the spread of the deadly
virus.
