Kathmandu, May 7: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Ishwar Pokhrel Thursday said that legal action would be taken against the private hospitals that were charging more than government-approved fee for treating COVID-19 patients.
He made that remark while talking to media persons at his office in Singha Durbar this afternoon.
“Treatment of COVID-19 patients in private hospitals should be as per the rules prescribed by the government. However, we received information that they are flouting the rules. The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has also warned and sought clarification from them,” he said.
He said that free treatment has been arranged for all the coronavirus-infected people in the government hospitals.
