Kathmandu, Oct 1: More than 70 per cent of the population in the Kathmandu Valley have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
The MoHP said 73 per cent of the target population in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur has been administered full dose of jabs.

A total of 1,622,441 people have been given the first dose and 1,562,734 people have received the full dose of vaccine. The target population of Kathmandu Valley to immunise is 2,129,773 above 18 years of age.
According to the ministry, 78 per cent of the target population have got the first dose jabs while 74 per cent received full dose in Kathmandu district. The target population in the Kathmandu district is 1,500,062.
Similarly, 76 per cent of the target population received first dose jab while 69 per cent of the target population has got the full dose in Lalitpur district. The target population in Lalitpur is 382,860 and it is 246,851 in Bhaktapur district. Likewise, 63 per cent of the target population were inoculated with first dose and 75 per cent of them with full dose.

According to the MoHP, 7,456,384 (33.3 per cent) people have taken their first dose of vaccine and 6,285,740 (28.9 per cent) people have been fully vaccinated across the nation so far. As per the MoHP update, in total, 289,381 doses of vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours.
The number of active COVID-19 cases has been found to decrease by more than 50 per cent. Earlier, on August 28, the number of active coronavirus cases was 36,866, and the figure was 18,168 on Thursday.
According to the MoHP, among the active cases, 1,366 patients are admitted to various health facilities while the remaining 16,802 are in home isolation.

As per the latest update, 353 COVID-19 patients are admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) while 117 are under treatment with ventilator support throughout the nation.
Likewise, the MoHP recorded 12 deaths related to COVID-19 on Thursday. With this, the nation’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 11,135.

The MoHP confirmed 1,078 new cases of COVID-19 of which 898 were detected through PCR tests and 180 cases were detected from antigen tests. With this, the nationwide COVID-19 tally through PCR method reached 795,061 and that through antigen reached 91,553. Among the infected people, 323,016 were female and 472,045 were male.

Of the total 11,765 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 8,555 were Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), while 3,210 antigen tests.
According to the MoHP, 765,758 infected people have recovered from the disease, with 911 recovered in the past 24 hours.
