By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 28: The odd-even traffic rule for public transport vehicles plying in the Kathmandu Valley has been withdrawn.
A meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of the three districts- Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur- in the Valley take a decision to this effect on Friday. The decision will be implemented from today midnight.
The odd-even traffic rule will, however, be applicable for taxi and private vehicles.
Earlier the day, a meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Coordination Center (CCMCC) has suggested the government for removing the rule with regard to public transport.
The odd-even traffic rule has been imposed to control the spread of the infection of the novel coronavirus as the number of infections has increased recently.
