By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 15: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a treasury bill of Rs. 11.85 billion today.
The Monetary Management Department through the auction has issued the bill of two kinds with the maturity date of three months and six months.
According to the Monetary Management Department, it has issued the 91 days treasury bill of Rs. 2 billion and 182 days treasury bill of Rs. 9.8 billion. It has informed that out of the total offered amount 15 per cent is reserved for non-competitive bidders.
The treasury bill is a part of public debt operation and the NRB as a government agent issues the bill at the time of requirement for the government.
In recent months, the NRB has been frequently issuing treasury bills. According to the Public Debt Management data, NRB issued the treasury bills of Rs. 24.56 billion from October 10 to November 9. As the government has been up for raising the expenditure, the process of raising public debt has also taken momentum.
