Kathmandu, Sept. 12: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota said on Thursday that there was no change in the government's earlier policy on the Indo-Pacific Strategy of the US government.
Minister Baskota said so while speaking at a press conference orgaised to make the Cabinet decisions public.
Responding to a query on Indo-Pacific Strategy, Minister Baskota said, “Whoever might have introduced his/her strategy linking Nepal, but the truth is no one can affect Nepal’s earlier stance regarding the nation’s policy with neighbours and with countries having bilateral relations.”
Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has said that dengue epidemic has not yet spiralled out of control and can well be brought under control.
The government is all aware about the dengue epidemic and its control across the country, Minister Baskota said on Thursday while speaking at a press conference organised to make the cabinet decisions public.
“The government is serious about people’s health and bringing the cases of dengue under control by applying all available preventive and precautionary measures,” Minister Baskota said.
Responding to a query on Indo-Pacific Strategy, Minister Baskota said, “Whoever might have introduced his/her strategy linking Nepal, but the truth is no one can affect Nepal’s earlier stance regarding the nation’s policy with neighbours and with countries having bilateral relations.”
In another context, Minister Baskota said that the government had not instructed the cinema halls to play national anthem before screening of the movies. As new laws are still in the drafting process, the government has not instructed any cinema halls to play the national anthem, he said.
“I don’t see any point regarding media making an issue of national anthem,” Minister Baskota added.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the official residence of Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli on September 8 took various 19 decisions.
