Deukhuri, Jan. 26: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said on Monday that he would defeat those elements which did not let the government work for the citizens.
Addressing a mass meeting organised by the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Dang in Rapti Rural Municipality, Prime Minister Oli said that he was compelled to dissolve the House of Representatives after some leaders did not let him work for the public. “It is vital defeating those who want instability,” he said.
Stating that the present government was committed to eradicating poverty and enhancing development and prosperity, the Prime Minister said that the government was receiving good cooperation from the public in achieving its goals.
He added that even COVID-19 pandemic could not prevent the government from carrying out developmental works. He also said that all the frontliner workers would be administered the vaccine against novel coronavirus from January 27.
“The government has achieved many milestones in terms of development. Electricity has reached more than 92 per cent area, planning is being done to export agricultural products, cent percent of the children are attending school and now no one will die of hunger,” he said.
Claiming that the people were in favour of his leadership, Prime Minister Oli said that even though some people had left the party, the NCP still maintained its unity.
Stating that there was no alternative to mid-term polls, Prime Minister Oli said that no one should threaten the judiciary. “One can file a case against the doings of the government but no one can threaten the independence of the judiciary,” he added.
Inauguration of the second longest bridge
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli also inaugurated the second longest bridge of the nation built over the Rapti River which connects Sisahaniya of Rapti to Mahadeva of Gadhawa Rural Municipalities.
Inaugurating the bridge, he said, “By completing the construction prior to the given deadline, the Rapti bridge has taught an important lesson to the contractors who only increase the budget and delay the works.”
He also extended gratitude to the construction company for completing the construction before time.
Construction of the second-longest bridge, which is 865 meters long and 7.5 meters wide, had begun in 2016.
