Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery rate reaches 93.4 %

Kathmandu, Dec. 6: Nepal continues to witness more recoveries compared to daily infection caseload in the recent days. A total of 2,206 COVID-19 patients recovered nationwide in the last 24 hours, compared to 1,024 new infections, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
With this, Nepal’s official national COVID-19 recovery tally has reached 224,053. The recovery rate now stands at 93.4 per cent.
On the other hand, with 1,024 new cases from today Nepal’s official COVID-19 caseload reached 239,885, including 82,825 females and 157,060 males. Of today’s cases, 460 are reported in Kathmandu Valley’s three districts. In terms of the total recovered, deaths and active cases percentage, the recovery rate is 93.40 per cent while the fatality rate is 0.66 per cent while the active cases stand at 5.94 per cent, according to latest MoHP data.
Of the 6,074 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 1,024 persons, with 402 females and 622 males, were found infected with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to MoHP daily situation update report.
Looking at the trend over the past few days, higher percentage of recovery has been recorded than daily infections. On Friday, 1,575 recoveries and 1,272 new cases were reported. Similarly, on Thursday, there were 2,111 recoveries and 1,343 new cases while on Wednesday there were 1,567 recovered and 1,490 were infected.
Meanwhile, Nepal’s death toll has now climbed to 1,577 with 10 new COVID-19 related fatalities in the past 24 hours.
In terms of tests, Nepal has so far conducted a total of 17,78,024 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests over the past months since January. Currently, there are 14,255 active cases of COVID-19 and 536 persons are placed in quarantine.
Also, among the active cases, 10,394 are in home isolation across the seven states, while 328 patients are admitted to the intensive care units (ICUs) of hospitals, and 54 are receiving treatment with ventilator support, according to MoHP report. Of the 54 patients on ventilator support, the highest, 31 patients, are in Bagmati state, followed by nine in Gandaki State.
Also, the number of districts with over 500 active cases is currently six of which four are from Bagmati State including the three districts of Kathmandu Valley and Kaski. Two districts, Manang and Dolpa have no active or zero cases.
