By Lucky Chaudhary, Kathmandu, Aug. 16: The six-member taskforce formed to find common ground to settle the intra-party feud within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is preparing a proposal to bring the NCP Chairmen, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', to a consensus.

The task force, which was formed on Friday, held its first meeting on Saturday with a view to identifying the problems within the party.

Meanwhile, after the leaders of the NCP raised questions seeking explanation regarding the task force, which was formed with the agreement of both the Chairmen, a meeting of NCP Secretariat has been called for Monday morning.

The NCP is preparing to delegate rights to the task force after holding the Secretariat meeting.

The task force, which has a week's time to narrow down the intra-party differences, is continuing its discussions today.

Surendra Pandey, member of the taskforce tweeted, "The meeting has moved forward on a positive note with a belief to resolve the prevailing issues within the party."

Although the task force has started its work, NCP leaders Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, and spokesperson of the party, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, had said that the procedure of forming the task force was erroneous in itself.

Leader Khanal said that the meeting of NCP Secretariat was called for Monday morning at the PM's residence, Baluwatar. "The standards and limitations will be determined in the Secretariat meeting," he added. "The taskforce however will not be deformed."

PM Oli has, through his secretariat, said that the decision of forming the task force in the agreement of the two Chairmen was organisational.

General Secretary Bishnu Prasad Poudel is the coordinator of the taskforce and Shankar Pokharel, Bhim Rawal, Surendra Pandey, Janardan Sharma, and Pampha Bhusal are the members.
