NCP debate is for journey towards socialism: Prachanda

Kathmandu, Dec. 13: Executive Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' said on Saturday that the debates and discussions within NCP were for the journey towards socialism.
Welcoming new leaders and carders joining NCP amidst a function organised at the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi today, Prachanda said that it was the responsibility and obligation of the communist party to build a socialist-oriented state.
“Current debates and discussions in our party are for the journey towards socialism,” he said. “The debates are about what kind of economic policy we will have, what kind of political norms we will follow, what kind of code of conduct we will follow, what kind of legislation and methodology we will have to move forward in the journey towards socialism.”
Prachanda said that they had moved forward towards a new journey of economic development in the country through the advancement of the system of federal democratic republic.
Welcoming the newcomers, he assured that they would be given appropriate responsibilities in the party on the basis of merit, ability and experience and hoped that all would fulfill their responsibilities.
Speaking on the occasion, senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the communist party had played a great role for the recent political changes in the country.
He said that he had considered Kaushar Sah, a former member of the Constituent Assembly, as the leader of his own party from the past.
Entering the party, Leader Sah said that she had left Nepali Congress as
she found the NC operated in the style of a clique.
