By Lucky Chaudhary, Kathmandu, Sept. 10: The Chairmen of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', have vowed to protect the party unity and strive for the nation's development on the basis of the lessons learned from the past.

"We express commitment to strongly stand for the selfless, principle-based unity of the party, devote to work for the welfare of the nation and citizens by defying all the opportunistic conspiracies against the party's interest," read the proposal to be presented in the Standing Committee meeting of the NCP.

The Chairmen-duo also accepted that the party unity was shaken by their inability to understand the power and capacity of the party.

"Those on the leadership of the party have committed serious mistakes in various circumstances. The party's unity was weakened due to the incapacity of resolving the intra-party feuds in a correct manner," read the proposal.

The Chairmen have assured that they will strive to maintain the party unity in the days to come.

"All the concerned leaders, party cadres and members should realise their mistakes and weaknesses by themselves. We also direct them to not repeat the mistakes in the future," said the Chairmen.

Stating that the factionals within the party had made the party unity weak, the Chairmen have pledged that they will take the NCP forward in an organisational manner, controlling the groups, anarchy and disorders within the party.

Chairmen Oli and Prachanda have also directed to strictly stop the habit of disseminating wrong information against the party's policy, leaders and workers on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, the Chairmen-duo have agreed that PM Oli will continue leading the government till the present House of Representatives (HoR) tenure as the Prime Minister.

"Chair Prachanda will have the executive rights of the party and will focus on conducting the party meetings, execution of decisions and all other works of the party. Chairman-duo will coordinate in moving forward the works of the government and the party in an institutional manner," read the proposal.

The Chairmen have assured that all the pending party-unification works would be concluded shortly.
