Kathmandu, Sept. 21: Ruling Nepali Congress is holding its ward level general convention in seven districts on Tuesday as per its amended 14th general convention calendar.
However, ward level general convention in 13 other districts has become uncertain as the party failed to resolve the active membership dispute there.
NC Central Election Committee member Tej Rawal informed on Monday that the committee is holding the ward level general convention in Kathmandu, Kavrepalanchowk, Sindhupalchowk, Bajura Kapilvastu, Bardiya and Morang districts.
The ward level general convention had already concluded in 57 districts. Narahari Acharya, Kedar Karki, Rajendra Lamichhane, Chhabiraman Niraula, Santosh Bhandari, Lok Bahadur Shah and Ghanashyam Panta have been entrusted as election officers to hold the ward level election in the seven districts on Tuesday.
As the Active Membership Row Resolution Taskforce led by NC former general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula did not provide the final list of active members of 13 districts by Monday, a new calendar is required to hold the ward convention in those districts.
Rawal said the Central Election Committee was ready to hold the ward level general convention in all remaining 20 districts.
