Kathmandu, Mar. 28: Nepali Congress Central Working Committee members expressed their views over the local polls also on Sunday.
The NC has been holding its CWC meeting since Friday.
In the meeting held at party office in Sanepa of Lalitpur under the chairmanship of party president and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, NC CWC members NP Saud, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, Dipak Giri, Pushpa Bhusal, Ishwori Neupane, Rita Gurung, Govinda Bhattarai, Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Debendra Raj Kandel, Dr. Dila Sangraula, Sarita Prasai, Amrit Aryal, Dr. Gopal Dahit, Yogendra Choudhari and others expressed their views today.
Likewise, Kalpana Chaudhari, Dhurba Wagle, Mahendra Kumar Raya, Gehendra Giri, Sanjaya Kumar Gautam, Tara Man Gurung, Anggelu Sherpa, Madhu Acharya, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, Rajib Koirala, Abdul Rajjak, Chandra Bahadur KC, Umesh Jung Rayamajhi, Abdul Sattar, Udaya Samsher Rana, Jitjung Basnet, Rajib Dhungana, Rajendra Kumar KC, Arjunjung Bahadur Singh, Rajib Bikram Shah, Dr. Chandra Mohan Yadav, Anjani Shrestha, Maikulal Balmiki, Champa Devi Khadka and Prakash Rasaili Snehi also aired their views.
Furthermore, Rangamati Shahi, Manjukumari Yadav, Guru Baral, Pratima Gautam, Jabeda Khatun Jaga, Nagina Yadav, Nanu Bastola, Bhim Parajuli, Kantika Sejuwal, Ganga Laxmi Awal, Urmila Nepal KC, Sushila Dhakal (Acharya), Rupa BK, Bidya Devi Timalsena and Jiban Rana also reported on ground situation of the NC in the meeting.
The next meeting of the NCCWC is scheduled for Monday at 11.30 am.
After the meeting, NC spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said his party was in favour of electoral alliance in local polls on the basis of necessity.
He said the alliance would be forged for the victory of maximum number of party candidates in wards, municipalities and metropolitan cities.
He said Monday’s meeting would decide about alliance after all CWC members expressed their views.
Dr. Mahat said most of CWC members speaking in the meeting favoured election alliance.
Likewise, NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel said the CWC meeting would take a policy decision about electoral alliance.
Talking with journalists, leader Paudel underlined the need for continuing the political alliance through election alliance.
CWC member Sujata Koirala also favoured election alliance.
Talking with journalists after the meeting, she said due to ruling alliance the NC got the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers and others so the alliance should not be ended.
Stating that the alliance would be advantageous for the NC, she said the alliance could be forged where the NC is weaker.
NCCWC member Prakash Snehi demanded resignation of Finance Minister Janardan Sharma in the meeting.
After the meeting, he informed that the Finance Minister had failed to improve the economy as the trade deficit was widening and economic indicators were deteriorating.
“So, the Finance Minister should resign or he must be dismissed by the Prime Minister.”
