By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 14: The second phase election for the position of President in the Nepali Congress (NC) General Convention is taking place at 3:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the NC Election Committee informed that the second phase election would be held at 3:00 pm in City Hall, Bhrikutimandap.
According to the NC's charter, if none of the candidates for President secure 50 per cent of the total votes, then the second phase election is conducted between two candidates with the highest number of votes.
As Sher Bahadur Deuba had secured 2,258 votes and Dr. Shekhar Koirala secured 1,702 votes, they will be competing in the second phase election today.
