Kathmandu, Dec 30 (RSS):
A session of the National Assembly today endorsed the 'Nepal Engineering Council (First Amendment) Bill- 2076 BS'. It was passed unanimously.
Special Service Bill presented
Similarly, 'Nepal Special Service Bill-2076 BS' was presented in the session. Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada presented the document on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
A note of dissent issued by lawmaker Prakash Pantha in regard with the proposal to seek a permission to present the bill was nullified by a majority of NA members.
Presenting the bill, Minister Dr Khatiwada claimed it aimed to strengthen national independence and territorial integrity.
Besides, the meeting unanimously passed the proposal tabled by Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekhraj Bhatta seeking consideration over the 'Industrial Enterprises Development Institute (First Amendment) Bill- 2075 BS'. The bill was received from the House of Representatives.
More, the meeting unanimously gave a green signal to the proposal tabled by Finance Minister Dr Khatiwada on behalf of the Prime Minister seeking permission to send the 'Revenue Leakage (Investigation and Control) First Amendment Bill, 2076 BS' to the Legislation Committee for clause-wise deliberations.
The Upper House shall meet again at 1pm on coming January 1.
