Kathmandu, Jan 20: The CPN (UML) and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) have forged a consensus for the two-party alliance in the Madhes Province for the National Assembly (NA) election to be held on January 26.
UML’s Madhes Province Committee Chairman Ram Avatar Yadav and LSP’s Jitendra Sonal signed an agreement to this regard on Thursday, according to a press statement released by the two leaders.
As agreed, Usman Ansari of UML under the ‘Other’ category would be supported by LSP and Rupa Kumar Yadav of LSP under the ‘Women’ category would be backed by the UML.
Meanwhile, opposition CPN (UML)’s Kathmandu District Committee has drawn government attention to conduct the election to the local level in time as per the spirit of the Constitution of Nepal.
The first meeting of the newly-elected committee on Thursday took a decision to draw government’s attention regarding the timely election to the local level.
