Kathmandu, Dec. 21:
Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General, Purna Chandra Thapa, is embarking on an official visit to Bangladesh, from January 12-15.
The cabinet meeting held on December 16 had approved chief’s visit to Bangladesh.
Brigadier General and spokesperson of Nepali Army Headquarters, Bigyan Dev Pandey said that the chief would be occupied by three delegates including Major General Brigadier Generaland ADC.
Chief’s Bangladeshi counterpart Aziz Ahmed had sent a formal invitation to him.
CoAS Thapa during the visit will meet Bangaldeshi President Mohammad Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Defence Minister Protirakha Montronaloya and other high level military officers.
During the visit, CoAS Thapa will also inspect the National Defence University of Bangladesh.
It will be fourth international visit of the Army Chief after he assumed the command of the Nepali Army as Chief of the Army Staff on September 9, 2018. He had visited India, China, and the USA earlier.
