Kathmandu, Dec. 2: Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday said that unfair activities were noticed in the by-election.
Speaking at a function organised at the party’s central office in Sanepa of Lalitpur on the occasion of the Memorial Day of late leader Bhim Bahadur Tamang, he said the by-election could not be held in a fair manner.
He said police and administration did not function fairly during the by election.
“Conspiracies were hatched by blasting bombs in Pokhara, where the NC’s victory was sure. Police officers were transferred. We secured victory in Bhaktpur, Dharan and Chitwan despite unfair behaviour of police,” he said.
Former Prime Minister Deuba said his party would exert pressure for a probe on the by- election by studying itself first.
He accused the Police Administration of assisting the ruling party in the election.
He further said the election security was not effective.
NC senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel said that there was no situation to satisfy the people for the NC.
He said there was no possibility of attracting voters towards the NC though the people looked frustrated with the government performance.
“We have to assure people that the NC is here while they do not trust the communists,” he said.
NC general secretary Dr. Shashanka Koirala said late Tamang had corrected all novels of late BP Koirala.
BP’s son Dr. Shashanka noted that Tamang’s write up was excellent. His Nepali language was also best. He did correction of BP’s entire novel while he doing his days in jail.
He said Tamang was leader who lived with socialism life.
