Pokhara, Mar. 12: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has said that he would not return to the CPN (Maoist Centre) even if he lost his seat in the parliament.
Addressing a gathering of leaders and cadres organised by CPN-UML here in Pokhara on Thursday, Minister Rayamajhi, who is also the former leader of CPN-Maoist Centre said as he had been involved in politics of ideology and principles it would not make any difference even if he lost his seat in the parliament.
Stating that the party’s ideology, programme and plans would be paramount, he said, “Others may think the parliamentary seat is important, but it is secondary for me. I am not going to save my parliamentary seat at any cost.”
Claiming that he could become a parliamentarian and minister again if he continued doing politics of ideology and principles, Minister Rayamajhi said he would never return to the CPN-Maoist Centre.
Stating that he was proud to be in favour of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, he said he would never leave PM Oli’s side.
He further claimed there would be no government without CPN-UML.
Meanwhile, speaking at another function organised by Rupa Rural Municipality, Rayamajhi said that political ups and downs are not an obstacle to development but an essential element.
Minister Rayamajhi assured that the local development plans made with the cooperation of all would not go to waste due to the party rifts.
“It is natural for politics to change as the weather changes. It was sunny in the morning and now it is raining. Let’s understand politics in the same way,” he said.
Stating that the development agenda would not change even if politics and party changed, he said that no matter who led the government the agenda of local development should not be forgotten.
“The ups and downs in everything show a new direction and show the importance of what we have to get, so
let’s take this positively,” he noted.
Minister Rayamajhi said that mega project to build Rupa Lake as the second largest lake after Phewa Lake in Pokhara has been passed with the cooperation of all.
He also urged the locals to be involved in the project.
