Kavrepalanchok, Sept 29: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota said on Sunday that journalists should collect and disseminate news only after analyzing the depth and fact of any issues.
While inaugurating a newly constructed office building of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) district chapter in Banepa here, Minister Banskota expressed dissatisfaction over the dissemination of baseless news in the name of being first in covering the news.
He urged the mediapersons to be serious in the sensitivity of news."The title and the content of news should be based on fact", he reiterated.
On another note, he expressed pleasure over the monitoring of media houses by FNJ whether or not the media houses have paid minimum wages to journalists.
Meanwhile, Minister Banskota has addressed festival greeting exchange programme organized at Azad Secondary School at Devibhumi of Panchkhal Municipality-12 in the district. On the occasion, Minister Banskota shared that the government was committed to creating environment conducive for employment opportunities targeting to youth.
