By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 4: The meeting of office bearers of Nepali Congress (NC), along with the Active Membership Investigation Committee of the party, is being held today.
Bhanu Deuba, chief personal secretary of Prime Minister and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, informed that the meeting is being held today at 3:00 in the afternoon in Sher Bahadur Deuba's residence at Budhanilkantha.
Secretary Bhanu Deuba said that the meeting was being held to hold discussions over the issue of active membership.
Moreover, the NC had decided to hold the 14th General Convention of the party from September 1 to 4. However, it is challenging for the party to hold the General Convention on the scheduled date as the NC now has new responsibilities of leading the government and controlling COVID-19.
Although some party leaders are preparing to postpone the General Convention, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel is of the view that the convention should be held on the date specified.
