By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 20: The meeting between Chairmen of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has concluded.
A source at the PM's residence informed The Rising Nepal that the Chairmen couldn’t reach a concrete agreement despite holding talks for two hours.
Ram Sharan Bajgain, media expert to the PM, also informed that PM Oli and Prachanda could not reach a consensus regarding the PM's recommendation to dissolve the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Standing Committee meeting of the party, which was scheduled for today, has remained uncertain. Bajgain said that as no concrete decision was taken by the party Chairs in the meeting, it is unsure whether the Standing Committee meeting will be held or not.
Prachanda, however, has been insisting on holding the Standing Committee meeting. Around 16 Standing Committee members including Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal have been waiting at Baluwatar for the meeting to kick off, informed a source.
The intra-party rift of the NCP has increased after the President dissolved the HoR on the recommendation of the PM today.
