Kathmandu, Feb. 21: Mahashivaratri, one of biggest festival of Hindu is being marked on Friday across the country by paying homage to the Lord Shiva. Of the four nights, Shivaratri is a night of fasting and prayer in honour of Lord Shiva.
A large number of devotees have already thronged the Pashupatinath to observe the festival.
Different kinds of saints, sages and sadhus have already occupied major parts of the Pashupatinath temple area.
Around 500 Naga Babas have entered at the core area of Pashupati temple. The naked sadhus are kept inside the temple premises.
Similarly, the movement of devotees increased at the Chitapol of Sanga of Bhaktapur where 143 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva stands.
