By Chhabi Pande, Butwal, Aug. 12: Lumbini Province Chief Amik Sherchan has administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Kul Prasad KC 'Sonam'.
Earlier in the day, KC was appointed to the post of Chief Minister with support from 42 lawmakers of the Lumbini Province assembly.
After taking the oath of office and secrecy, Chief Minister KC expanded the Council of Ministers of the provincial government inducting seven new ministers.
Province Chief Sherchan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed provincial ministers.
Of the new ministers in the provincial government, Dilli Bahadur Chaudhari of Nepali Congress has been designated as the Minister for Rural and Urban Development, Sahasram Yadav of Janata Samajwadi Party as Minister for Physical Infrastructure, and Krishna Dhwaj Khadka of CPN (Maoist Center) as the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law.
Similarly, Purmati Dhenga and Suman Sharma of Janata Samajwadi Party and Ajay Shahi, who won election from Nawalparasi with the election symbol of the sun, have been inducted as the Ministers without portfolio.
