Kathmandu, Jan 21: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has warned of actions to some private schools for running physical classes by violating the government’s order to stop conducting classes in persons in the time of the pandemic.
Some schools in the city are running though the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology issued such order to run classes in all schools through alternative medium from January 11.
It is said that some schools in ward no. 15 and 18 in the KMC are running physical classes even in the time of ongoing third wave of the corona virus spread.
Chief of Education Department of KMC Ram Prasad Subedi said the schools would face music if they don’t immediately stop physical classes.
“It is punishable to run classes on the pretext of charging fees from students at a time when support from all sides is needed to control the pandemic,” Subedi added.
“Such schools should immediately stop opening schools. Otherwise they will face stern actions,” according to Subedi.
