Kathmandu, Feb. 8: Minister for Home Affairs Bal Krishna Khand Monday said that the Home Ministry needed to be reformed from administrative and service delivery perspectives.
Speaking at a discussion programme on ‘Home Administration Reform Action Plan, 2078 BS’ at the Ministry, Home Minister Khand said that the Home Administration needed to be strengthened and reformed to establish lasting peace in the country.

Stating that peace was essential in the country for rapid development, he said that the budget provided to the Home Administration and security would help make the country peaceful and prosperous.
He also said that peace and security were indispensable to ensure the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

He added that as the number of people immigrating into or emigrating from the country was increasing day by day, the statistics and details of those coming in or and leaving Nepal should be with the immigration administration and security agencies.
He also said that the immigration points set up at 13 places of the country should be modernised.

Stating that there had been various incidences of Nepalis going abroad on visit visas and migrating for employment, Minister Khand said that the concerned ministries were taking necessary steps in this regard.
Home Minister Khand stressed the need for dynamism in the accountability and working style of the Home Administration in line with the changing environment. He said that the working style should be modernised at a fast pace.
