Kathmandu, Dec 26 : The Kathmandu Valley has experienced a bit chilly day today with the mercury dipping to 0.9 degree, the lowest temperature in the Valley so far this year.
The Valley recorded 2.9 degrees on Wednesday. "The mercury may drop to below zero this year if the westerly winds have an impact again," said meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division has asked the people of the Tarai to adopt safety measures as the area experiences chill with thick fogs blanketing and the temperature plummeting.
The temperature in Jumla has dropped to below zero degree. Likewise, Dipayal has recorded 3.5 degree, Pokhara 6.0, Simara 10.0, Dhankuta 5.9 and Okhaldhunga 3.5.
